Our daughter worked at a well known private school for talented teens & preteens. Many, maybe most, were cast-offs of divorced rich. Time to start a new family with the new spouse. They’d been replaced and knew it. Each morning the staff had a meeting on that night’s suicide attempts. Most of the kids had severe eating disorders, or were cutters, &/or other emotional problems. Its good that a cartoonist looks at this. Thank you Ed Stein.
Woof. I’ve thought many a time that some people simply have too much money and would actually benefit from having less, but I had no idea that major parental negligence was such a common consequence of wealth. I guess I should be glad that I’ll never face such challenges myself.
Look, my kids went to a Private School. Catholic School, where I went as a child. We have two other Christian Schools in the area! THE PARENTS ARE NEITHER RICH OR NEGLECTFUL, NOR WERE WE! IT JUST SO HAPPENS OUR PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM SUCKS! WE SENT/SEND OUR CHILDREN THERE BECAUSE THEY GET A BETTER EDUCATION AND THE TEACHERS CARE, AND THE PARENTS ARE WELCOME IN THE SCHOOL!
I went to a private church school. The wealthier the parent the more troubled the child. Those kids whose folks were poor and barely scraping by to get them into our school were the ones who made the most of themselves later in life. They were also the least likely to be in trouble with the law, pregnant or an unwed father.Later I worked for a couple of years at a daycare where we had a full mix of both wealthy and poor kids. Our daycare was the only one in our isolated area. The comic above isn’t far off the mark. When a child was left after closing, sometimes for many many hours with no phone call we took them home ourselves and cared for them. With few exceptions the ones left for hours with no call were from our most upscale clients. And usually when they picked them up later it would be without a thank you or explanation and often with a loud curse for the extra fees. You can figure your own explanations as to why.
Wow, you people sure live in a different area than we do! Sorry about that but things are sure different here. oh yeah, there are parents who don’t give a damn, but that isn’t related to where the children are schooled, it’s related to people who never should have had kids to begin with because they are too selfish and self-centered.

Wow. How sad….I’ll say it again, just because it’s a private school doesn’t make it better.

Many people out there don’t deserve to have kids.
