More meaningful? Like jewelry (which in my book is pretty much useless)? Or new stuff for the house? Why can’t you just give him what he wants?
Good grief woman! Have you learned nothing? If you don’t want to give him a gift just say so. If he can’t think out loud then you don’t need to ask him how he feels about anything.
