Take it from this man, teach him how and why to do the dishes first. Cooking can be learned, cleaning will need to be beaten into him. I recommend the 2×4 method. 2×4 method: A farmer had a mule. The mule would do anything the farmer asked. When asked how he taught the mule so well, he replied, “all I have to do is get its attention.” In response to how to get a mules attention, he replied, “I simply smack it over the head with a 2×4.”
When I had my first operation here in Australia (my right hip), my husband started learning how to cook. He’s progressed so well :) He even specializes in one-pan wonders! I am so proud of him. He even wanted to watch me make my baking powder biscuits and explain each step so he can surprise me with them at times!
It’s not that hard to learn to cook. Jason actually can operate my Tefal 45-in-1 better than I can.. LOL! I rely heavily on my Tefal and KitchenAid appliances but I will NEVER get one of those machines that supposedly cooks a whole meal. That’s not cooking, it’s adding ingredients and pushing a button.

Where I come from, you ain’t a “real” man if you can’t cook, clean, sew, or change a diaper. (Well, 3/4 ain’t bad, in my case!)
