That’s the problem with cats. They bring you a dead mouse like it’s a great treasure that they are deigning to bestow upon you and then you just don’t have the heart to tell them you’d rather they left it outside.
To a cat, dead things are food. They bring food so the family knows they can rely on the cat, a gesture of love and to ensure a place as a family member. “You can count on me!” Kind of thing.
