Because gocomics doesn’t know that they are spammers until comments are posted and we let gocomics know by flagging said comments. Their user name may then be deleted but the next day the spammers are back with a different name. Registration is simple enough.
A cat is the kind of animal who allows you to live in the same home he does, as long as you feed them. Garfield rules the cat’s world, so, Garfield rules the world.
It takes almost FOREVER to flag spam, if you’ve ever tried. You have to describe in detail what the problem is, verify everything twice, etc. I usually give up - the damage is already done. It’s like GC has time to read all our flag, but not the original offending post.
Yes, I flag spammers. The real solution would be to flood their website with spam, much like some of the chain e-mails which we sometimes receive. Make their website unusable. 2 million e-mails= 0 spam
My cats do not rule! My behavior just happens to agree with their desires. When a cat rubs my ankles, it is my decision to feed him/her. I enjoy cleaning the cat box.. It’s only natural that one of my felines should separate me from my mate in bed. I have no greater pleasure than petting the cat during waking hours (his, not mine). It is a source of amusement that right after I make a bed the cat will burrow under the covers. Remember, you only need a small hole to bury a cat.
Apparently flagging the spammers works, because by the time I get on here, I find a lot of comments about the spammers but not the spam itself. Of course, I indirectly am affected by the spammers because of the comments they generate (which have nothing to do with the strip).
I have a cat who was abandoned at 1 week old - I’ve raised bottle babies before - but THIS one is 5 years old now, and still gets in my lap and sucks his thumb – heartbreaking!!! And to think someone just dumped him….he’s got a GREAT home now!!!
I agree with you, gocomicsmember; by the time I get to my comics, the spam is usually absent. On the occasions I DO see it, I flag it as others seem to do.

I agree, Garfield. Cats and other pets have trained their human owners.

If they could permanently get rid of spammers then I’d give them my vote.

You don’t own a cat. The cat owns you.
Why can’t Go Comics keep these Chinese spammer pests off their web site?

Cats and women rule the world…men and dogs just have to accept that.

I often just don’t even READ the comments.

Why cannot they edit out these leeches who are too cheap to buy ads? or at least “bleep” them out? Bad enough, some use it as a message board.

Garfield, it would be more apparent that cats rule the world, if you actually got off the chair to put some effort into it!! :D

We got our dog to go into his box by giving him a treat when he didn’t snarl. Now, whenever he wants us to give him a treat, he goes into his box.
