I ask the clerks at the supermarket what aisle the bear traps are in and mostly get funny looks. Some times they recover quick enough to tell me “between the beer ans the rocket launchers”
Devonshade, I don’t think the police would do much with as little evidence as is present at this time. She’s got a good plan, get alerted to the burglar with hopes of getting a good look at him/her/it. Gertie is doing well.
Yes, I know I’m not convincing you. I’m defusing your trollish misdelights for those who might just be joining the show.
I am new to this commentary and freely admit there are many things in life I do not and probably will never fully understand. One that perplexes me now is just why some folks (‘Devonshade’ for example) persist in unending criticism and mockery of the strip and artist.
It is, after all, just that – a comic strip! Beyond that I, for one, believe Jim Scancarelli (whom I have never met) does an excellent job while continuing in a long line of other fine artists.
There are a goodly number of other strips that I do not particularly care for – so I do not bother with them. That would be my unrequested advice to those that feel the same about ‘Gasoline Alley.’

DON’T put that bear trap in front of the fridge!
I always liked the idea of a tripwire-string and cans with pebbles or old nuts and bolts hanging in them as alarms.

This storyline is taking awhile to develop …

Strings and cans worked for The Brady Bunch.

No, I still like the idea of a bucket of water over the door. Always good for a laugh in the TV comedies.

You may be onto something, Hector… or perhaps just on something.
As for post399, what’s up with your using good sense, rational behavior, decorum and logic in a public forum?
