Walt turns 110 and only now someone notices his hearing loss? Either it came on him suddenly or someone is derelict in their responsibilities (Skeezix or Gertie?).
I recommend that Skeezix step aside and let his sister Judy take Walt to an audiologist, so we can have a Judy and Gideon Grubb storyline. Maybe include Walt’s grandson Gabriel Grubb, too?
Of course, sometime during the story, Walt will wander off and end up at the Old Comics Home again, visiting Smokey Stover. Notary Sojac!
I agree with you axe. Skeezix and Gertie, will lose their hearing especially Gertie,as she is around Walt all the time. They need to take Walt to the audiologist for some hearing aids, before the rest of the family goes deaf.

As an audiologist, the youngest I’ve fit with hearing aids was 4 months. The oldest was 105. I’d love to see Walt!

Maybe for the moment, they should take that conversation into the next room, or even (with a jacket!) outdoors…
