I read that the guy who invented those drove one off a cliff. I don’t know about the transporter, but he died. If true, it’s ironic.

Tourists use them a lot in and around Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco. It’s not unusual to see 20 or so people following a tour guide, and of course, you see them no where else in the city.

I did a Segway tour in Chicago. Yes it looks stupid when you see people doing it, but man is it fun when you are the riding around on one!

Quadrupeds do not mix well with two-wheeled devices. Something unnatural about it.

We saw Segways in Rome, too. They reminded me of chariouts without the horses. I guess they are too expensive to become popular.
