I had to go on a business trip for a month, leaving my two cats in the hands of a professional cat care person. When I returned, Kirby (pictured as my avatar) rushed out to see me and meowed welcomes and glad-to-see-yous for half an hour. It took all that time to find my other cat Johnny Depp. He finally deigned to come out from under the deck.
He gave a big yawn. “Oh. It’s you … If it really is you, you’d know where the food is.”
Of course, after he ate and groomed for half an hour, he showed that he was glad to see me by inviting me to go for a walk with him. Kirby came along and it was business as usual after that. :)
