Different schools have different rules. I heard of one that had assigned seating for lunches and didn’t allow you to talk to people at the table next to you.
Now that’s going too far with their idiot regulations. Why can’t kids talk in the bus line? And I remember seeing in one school where the kids could not talk during lunch at all even to the person next to them, let alone at the next table.
