    My parents kept me in the 16 bit generation for years. I finally got my own money and was able to buy an N64…when the Gamecube was already out.

    Poor Gil, denied the extravagance of the latest game system. Whoa is he. Been there, done that. I think these experiences of denial is what led to the next generation of entitlement. When we grew up, we didn’t want our kids to go through those feelings, so we “give” them everything.

    “We can’t afford it.” The first four words I learned. Eventually my brother and I would augment our allowances by doing odd jobs for the parents and neighbours. Gil might try that and save up for the dream cube thing he wants.
