Hello!
Did somebody say St. Louis Brown’s?
You want to read a heart breaking story about a broke team, look up the information about their 1922 season. Makes the Mudlarks look like winners.
To think the ‘22 outfield still holds the record for the highest batting avg for one season between 3 players. Plus they had Geo Sisler at 1st base hitting 420, later became member of the first class into the Hall of Fame.
If you can find it read this book
“The 1922 St. Louis Browns:best of the AL’s worst” by Roger Godin.
Oh well, so much for the Browns.
Loved the history of the StL Browns. Had an Ebbets Field classics t-shirt with the brownie logo. It was cool but it scared my kids when they were little - they thought it was the devil!
P3 is the worst attempt at a catch I’ve seen, even in this strip. He’s jumping off the wrong leg (if he’s jumping at all, looks like he’s just leaning), he’s looking towards the outfield, not at the ball, he bent his wrist for some reason which limited his stretch….what else?

With the look in Cassies eyes P3 should have been a bit more interesting for Derek.

P2 is definitely soft porn! Younger readers, look away. P3 is a stance stolen from “The Karate Kid.”

P3: If that is a batted ball, the pitcher’s follow-through has carried him all the way to first base.
Also, outfitting the team in old St. Louis Browns uniforms is not the way to instill a winning spirit.

hey … the Browns went to a World Series once … ONCE!
Gotta love the “Johnny Dangerously” reference there, huh?

Cassie has some impure thoughts going through her head in P2.

Look on the bright side in P2; it is the first time his hair has been out of his face!

True - that is the first time his hair wasn’t in his face…he’s a pretty generic looking dude when his hair isn’t hanging down.
