Way to go Gil you inadvertantly helped Derek come up with the song he needs to sing so he can force the batter into a double play!

But the ball is dropping out of his glove so runners move and score anyway, game over.

Derek has a brain freeze. Does he sing the Osmonds “DOWN by the lazy river”–ELO’S “Don’t bring me DOWN”–“I’ll fly AWAY”—“Springsteen’s ” I’m going DOWN DOWN DOWN”—or the love song from the movie “FAR AN AWAY”. What a decision for a teen.

He’s a country singer. “East Bound and Down”

Actually, he just got an idea for a new song. “When the seams of life are spinning, keep it down and away.”

Derek muses,

“Hey wait a minute. Down and away? No way, I’m going up and in!”

A little chin music for the next batter as he channels Sal Maglie and starts singing “The Barber of Seville.”

Derek likes the classics. Look for him to accompany his fastball with Laura Nyro’s “Sweet Blindness,” as popularized by the Fifth Dimension:

“So let’s go down by the grapevine, drink my daddy’s wine…”

Gil obviously blew the uniform budget on himself, leaving the team wearing those blank T-shirts. Why is Marty giving a summary of the inning’s action when he’s been broadcasting it live all along?

What’s with the line running down the right side of Marty’s face? It looks a litte Alice Cooper-esque.

Neil Young’s Down by the River? The Beatles’ I’m Down? Nah, kids these days probably aren’t even aware of those. :1
