There’s that S—disturber Moon in the background of P2! Is this public outrage at all realistic?

Where are the parents of students? Obviously that is a crowd of childless people.

So, where are the pitchforks and torches? Forget jumping a shark…this one is jumping a blue whale. It’s much more likely that people would be screaming about fat cat administrators who don’t actually teach their kids. I expect we’ll see a call for cutting sports. Then Gil Thorp will be Dagwood Bumstead with a strong chin.

Where have you people been? This is happening all around us. Faux Tea Party outrage against the little people and public unions. Maybe you should read something besides the comics.

But using a comic as an example of why we should read something other than comics?

I know it’s not even Memorial Day yet, but this is a pretty heavy issue and I’m not sure Neal and Rod will be able to wrap it all up before the boys start putting on their pads for football (if we even have a football season next fall). Don’t forget the tension we have going with the softball team and Slim’s band. There’s just a lot happening right now in Milford.

This is one of the best Gil Thorp storylines ever. This comic strip is about high school, not about football & basketball.

They’re cutting teachers paychecks and laying them off left and right where I live, but most of the people are more angry at the politicians than they are the teachers.

Oh, it’s realistic. I used to be a teacher. Lots of snarky comments about “all those vacation days” (during which I always had to find another job as well as attend professional seminars) and how much we make. Meanwhile, I was using a lot of my paychecks to buy school supplies for kids who either couldn’t or wouldn’t bring their own and lunches for kids whose concerned parents didn’t bother to pack them a sandwich or give them a couple of bucks to eat school lunch.

Fat people yelling about fat paychecks and pensions – oh the irony!
