Bobby Big Stuff is getting good and angry. Could be bad news for the peacock. But are we supposed to believe that Mia also thinks it’s Jay-Bird? One person might be that confused, but not two.
When is Gil going to start baseball practice? I hear they have a kid who looks like Mark Fidrych trying out. Or at least have Larry Bird stop by and give the guys a pep talk before they flame out of the conference playoffs again.
For the naysayers out there who don’t think this strip is about true high school issues, just imagine P3 is a conversation from the unfortunate boy in high school who had an uncontrollable adolescent reaction in the gym shower and is from that day on known as “Woody.”
This strip continues to outdo itself and surprise. I thought there was no way this storyline could get any dumber but I was wrong. Now his teammates are mad at him for not showing him his good luck peacock. I assume they are going to accuse him of not wanting anyone else to have the “luck of the ’cock” so that Scott will be the star.
On signing day, I wanted to mention in the release on our new recruits that one of them played for the legendary Gil Thorp at Milford High School. I wonder if anyone would have noticed.
Why do I have a feeling big bad Bobby will try to kidnap Jay-Bird the Peacock, accidentally injuring or terminating him in the process and sending Scott into a frenzy that will have dire consequences before GilFather returns after “searching for his children” (trip to the Bunny Ranch) to get things back to normal and get ready for football?

I think Jay-Bird would have wanted to help the team. Way to be selfish, Scott.

It won’t be too long now before Gil and Kaz find out about this and put on their leather jackets to put the peacock “out of fashion”.
