Does it make any sense for the ball to come flying out of Shuford’s hands in the opposite direction from which he was hit? My limited knowledge of physics suggests the answer is no, but I’m open to enlightenment.

In panel 1, someone is explaining to the kicker with Asperger’s that as a result of that TD on the kickoff he’s now off the team.

Shuford was just sticking up for Tru the other day, maybe he’s trying to sabotage Jarrod! Is that a cameo by Brian Wilson as the ref in P1?

Ref in P1, looks like Vince, an old assistant of Gils.

P2- KAH-PI-YAH!!! At halftime, Gil will provide 2nd half strategy and Jarrod will give an impassionate halftime speech that will Debbie Downer the ’Larks. Hope Dr. Wally Lamb is in the stands. Could be some MHS injuries.

…where’s the flag for targeting?I think the seldom heard from ranelson again has it correct….a furious comeback engineered by Tru. J-Rod plays disgruntled WR and drops key pass.

Ha, nobody else caught this one in P1. Check out MUT‘s P1 and tell me it’s not true.

I like tcar-1’s comment last night about yesterday’s strip that it looked like the Shaw player was eating a sandwich while scoring. I wish I would have thought of that and photoshopped in a Subwich.

Next play: Coach Drebus calls for on-side kick. Shaw recovers and the stands go wild.

J-Rod’s halftime speech goes something like this. The KO return and the fumble are all Tru’s fault. Who’s with me! Ummm, does that mean we all sit on the bench with you?

As a graduate of Shaw High School, 1967, I remember Don Dreibus. He used to take his car for repair to my grandfather’s garage down on Hayden Avenue. He was vice principle when I was there. I believe his last year of coaching was 1966. This was before playoffs in the state of Ohio. The team went 9-0-1 that year. Not an athelete myself I always admired his teams. Earlier this year the strip used the name Pat Visci. He was a quarterback at Shaw and a couple of years ahead of me. I’m wondering what connection the writers have to the old high school.
