Toys in the cereal was the main reason my mom would NOT buy junky cereal.

I remember getting metal clickers in Cracker Jack boxes. Awesome fun, unless you were a parent.

remember the little frogmen guys and the little submarines that came in the boxes of Kellogg’s frosted flakes? they had these little compartments under them in which you put baking soda; when you dropped them in the bathtub or washtub, they would sink, then after a few seconds they would surface , powered by the bubble formed from the baking soda. of course, for a buck or so , you could send off to Battle Creek Michigan for larger versions of the same thing. the ones in the cereal boxes were only maybe an inch and a half tall but the ones you sent for were maybe 4 inches tall.all different colors, one held a knife, another held a mine of some sort over his head.forgive my rambling. just an old guy remember the past, just like in the comic

Putting on the Way Back Machine, brings memories of Kellogs Pep, and Pep buttons. Each button had a cartoon character, so you could collect the buttons and try to get all the cartoon characters you saw in the morning funnies….
