I believe a study was done for some of the best songs for aerobic exercise – the songs had to have so many beats per minute. The Bee Gees had a few on the list and I think one of the top five was “Stayin’ Alive.”
Also the tempo of “Stayin’ Alive” is perfect for CPR chest compressions. (so is ‘Another One Bites the Dust’, but it sends the wrong message if you sing that while doing CPR).
