To me, pine straw needles are worse than leaves. even if you use gutter guard mesh, the needles stick vertically or go right through. The leaves will lay on top but I use an inverted scrub brush on a telescoping pole to get them off.

Tell you, the leaf guard type of gutter is well-worth the price. I hate, hate, hate gutter cleaning. Any of those gutter systems is worth it. Never had good luck with the pop-in screens. But we spent the money & the peace of mind of all of Grey’s aforementioned reasons is well worth it. And most of those types of gutters come with the “if they clog, we will clean them for free” guarantee. Spend the money, Gray!

Or you can do as I do and not install gutters ever.

I used to sell em, but I would never have them on my own homes. Too much P.I.T.A…

Yup! Gutters are good for those who sell and/or install them! That’s pretty much it…

My gutters are always under threat especially when my neighbor’s guava tree start to bear fruit. The thumps and thuds followed by the sound of rolling fruit down towards the gutter means I have my work cut out taking down all that stuff.
