Always backup to a local media you have control over. Storing stuff “in the cloud” just means someone else owns your data and if they go away, you lose your photos and everything else you mindlessly put there.
Better yet, don’t put anything “in the cloud” that you aren’t willing to lose in an instant and always backup locally as well.
Therein lies the reason a lot of family history is lost… people essentially fill their phones with pictures of family celebrations, events, etc., but they tend to either forget, or just don’t transfer the photos to a memory card, or storage, and the photos get deleted.

Make a print. There’s something special about 8”x10” on the wall or bookshelf.

OTOH most prints today have a very limited life unless you make sure to pay for quality.
