My daughter suffers from a sound sensitivity. The noise of people popping gum in class would drive her up the wall. More than that though was the mere idea of teachers allowing students to chew gum in class. It wasn’t allowed back when I was in school and dinosaurs roamed the earth.
My siblings and I always had people asking for our snacks. Usually friends, so we didn’t mind sharing, but it was annoying. Good grief, you go to the same Shop Rite we do, buy your own pretzels!

School rules appear to have eased. We weren’t allowed to chew gum… Well, we sometimes chewed gum – but never if a teacher was looking our way.
