They did whatever they had to do. Actually, hearing from some Black folks, the days before integration weren’t all that bad. They had their own society, own schools, businesses and did a great deal of living their own way. For some, even today, that was preferable to what they have now.
It’s strange how there are some places that minorities are separating themselves from an integrated world, with things like graduation ceremonies & dances just for people of a certain race.
