Often in this strip, the characters quote great black scholars and I assumed that Alexandra Trenfor was just another one of them. But, so far, it seems no one knows who AT is. There was some suggestion that she didn’t exist prior to 2000. I even checked my old set of 1959 World Books and found nothing. Another suggestion is that she was a contributor to a early facebook page. Any ideas?
You’re right, she doesn’t exist. Even her last name barely exists. (Someone says they found it on Ancestry.com. I didn’t follow up). Imagine saying something that nicely and not wanting to take the credit—although the sentiment isn’t new. Perhaps they didn’t want to get dinged for copying an older quote.

Yeah, that makes sense. Somebody put it in a paper and had to attribute it to a person, not themselves!
