Last we saw, baby Al was about to fork an electric outlet….

The first two panels would actually make great instructional material for someone learning to draw, you can really see how important drawing boxes is to drawing so many things.

Uh Ellie, I really doubt Al is on fire, but even if he was couldn’t you put that out? You worked in a restaurant, putting out fires is part of the standard training!

Hubbs really needs to try out for the NFL and just see what happens. He could come here to Pittsburgh and talk to the Roonies. Worth a Shot.

That is deep, we spend our lives in many different boxes, should come as no surprise that we end our lives in a box.

I really miss the old Ellie and Hubbs and their simple, shy comical interactions. Little Al introduced too much angst: we now have a baby-obsessed Ellie and a Hubbs reduced to a nervous, insecure wreck. Too grim for what used to be a lighthearted comic. Maybe spontaneous combustion is the best fate we can hope for with disruptive little Al.

Sorry, I’m in a bitter, pessimistic mood after last week’s attempt to overthrow the government. This isn’t the America I grew up in. The BananaRepublicans brought all this down on themselves. The rest of us? Simply collateral damage.

Hubbs is uncharacteristically philosophical.

Well, at least Ellie didn’t call him at work to solve a problem that he can do nothing to fix remotely. Back in the day, I had to forbid my wife to call me at work about things that she could take care of herself. My sister, however, was unable to control herself, and I had to block her calls. I’m retired now, and she’s still blocked. I refuse to be dragged into her panic-parties.
