    My favorite tobacco story is that FDR singlehandedly destroyed the cigarette holder industry. The rich people who hated him could handle being seen on a yacht like FDR, or have a mansion like FDR, or drive nice cars like FDR, but they could show their disapproval by throwing out the cigarette holders “that man” used.
