    The Laws of Golf: LAW 1: No matter how bad your last shot was, you should have inner peace knowing that a crappier one is yet to come. (This law does not expire on the 18th hole, since it has the supernatural tendency to extend over the course of a tournament, a summer and, eventually, a lifetime.) More laws later.

    an excerpt from The Real Official Rules of Golf:

    Bad shots come in groups of three. A fourth bad shot, is the beginning of another group of three. Rough attracts, Fairways repel. If you can hit a two acre fairway 10% of the time, you’ll hit a two inch tree branch 90% of the time. Never buy a putter until you’ve had a chance to throw it.
