When I was in graduate school I was a TA and taught a few undergrad classes. Student IDs at that school incorporated the year you first enrolled. I remember one student had an id that had my birth year as his first enrollment year. I didn’t get the impression he was in any hurry to graduate . . . not sure if he took a break or something.
