How did this happen Jojo?
You didn't understand this stuff and couldn't help me with it!
It sounds like you're blaming me for this bad grade.
Your grades are not my responsibility!
Then how come my teacher wants to see you after school?
doesn’t matter if its math or some other subject. There are times when there’s just not enough time to learn, never mind remember. And that’s just in school!
Our district tells parents not to help their kids with homework…that the point of it is to see what the kids do and don’t understand about what’s being taught so the teacher can adjust how he or she is teaching it and help those who didn’t comprehend (or didn’t do the homework at all).
The teacher merely wishes to consult with the father to ensure that JoJo has the essential requirements at home to effectively do his homework.A distraction free area away from siblings, communication devices (cell phones and the like),the TV or Radio.Enough space, light, time and promises of bodily harm if JoJo’s grades don’t improve.

That’s a rather pompous stance you took there, Joe. Too much pride to admit that you were clueless?

Teachers need to explain math problems better and more examples.

How could the father not understand basic math. The kid isn’t in advance trig.

Why are people assuming this is about math? There are parents who are clueless about grammar and punctuation as well.
