On our high-school PA system long ago, the names of students who had to report to the principal’s office were read by the reading-challenged assistant principal. He always mispronounced the name of an oft-appearing lad I’ll call “Opelbruch.” The asst. principal also called off the names of students at the year-end graduation ceremony. When Mr. Opelbruch’s name was mispronounced one last time, the student stood up and bellowed, for everyone at the football field to hear, “IT’S OPELBRUCH! GET IT RIGHT, FOR ONCE!”

I remember making the announcements for my school when I was in middle school, it would take me fifteen minutes to get everything out. But it was a nice pass from going directly to class in the morning
