The father was upset that he did not get to inspect the bag of candy; if mine was not a diabetic he would have claimed a few as a fee for the inspection.

Huh… I thought free-range trick-or-treating ended with the Great Parental Freakout of 1985…

I still inspect each of my kids’ bags of candy on Halloween – and take the “daddy tax” while I do.

Remember that when they start amputating your toes. I’ve been type 1 since I was 30 and have resisted the urge to eat candy for 33 years and still have all my extremities.

Parents have always checked the stash you haul home from your raid to all the neighbours. As a child you learn quick to pounce on your faves – - before mom grabs what she wants to eat. She never takes the raisins. or the apples.

[furry-faced grin] Wonderful comic, Robb! Keeping it real!!!!++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++It is sad that many kids do not experience traditional trick-or-treating anymore. I am glad it is still around in my neck of the woods.
