Not necessarily. You can spank (if that’s your choice) as long as you don’t use a weapon such as a belt and as long as you don’t hit hard enough to bruise. Incidently, my daughters will cry like they’re being spanked just from hearing the disappointment in my voice. I used to spank but haven’t needed to for a long time.

Only 2? Wimp!

We need to get back to the old days.

Hit em with their young or they will hit you when their older. My spoiled baby sister is proof of that. Didn’t get her share of spankings when she should have.

On the other hand………beating your kid with a clothes hanger/stick/wooden spoon/ your hand is not the way to parent, And no, 70 (or so) years later, I don’t forgive her.

The thing about spanking is that, if you do it, it should be done sparingly, compassionately and in a way that the child understands why he/she’s being punished, and why whatever he/she did was wrong.

I always preferred the Spanking to the Dreaded “Talking To”. The Spanking was usually over quickly. The “Talking To” droned on and on forever. Whenever I appeared to be drifting off during a particular long verbal discourse on whatever Evil I had done, a Spanking was always a possibility. I always felt that constituted Double Jeopardy. I did learn to Not “Eye Roll” or any other such Overt demonstration!

Tell that to the people in prison who are repeatedly spanked.The older generation always calls the younger a lost group. It’s been going on since Socrates time.
