I just had my flu shot yesterday morning, I never used to get one but I work with children now so it’s a must. I already had a big cold a couple of weeks ago, I’m hoping I can make it awhile without getting sick again.

Never had a flu shot, never had the flu. Some people should get them but I’ve never felt compelled. It’s a gamble every year that they’re going to pick the right strains to guard against, seems to make just as much sense to take my chances. You can get a flu shot and still get the flu if it doesn’t protect against the strains that actually become prevalent.

First time I had flu shot made me really sick and rest of year I was more sick. That ended the flu shot for me.

To many who work in social environments, its mandatory to have one. If people don’t want it, that’s their personal choice. To me, I see it as an investment.

My wife has MS; it doesn’t increase her risk of catching the flu, but it does GREATLY increase how sick she becomes when she catches it – like, weeks in the hospital sick. We both get shots every year. Every time I hear a co-worker holding forth about how they’re not getting a shot (often the same “heroes” who come into work when they’re sick) I want to scream at them.
