She’s right. People in need often have pets in need.

There are homeless with pets as well, especially veterans with dogs.

I can’t speak for all places (e.g., Philly), but here those who get regular assistance from the missions fill out applications. Included on the applications are entries for pets (and housework/yardwork). So if pet food is donated, it’s provided.

Our local “Meals On Wheels” has started a program to deliver pet food to the elderly clients who are receiving daily lunches

My cat Sloopy just passed and I donated her food to a shelter. They were very grateful

There’s a couple I know who run a charity where they collect dog and cat food, package it up, and donate it to food banks, so poor people don’t have to give up their pets.

He most sincere kind of “Love” is that from a pet to his human family, where it be reversed sadly many times pets receive less in return as many subhuman pet keepers don’t realize nor want to know how to reciprocate the love they receive

Our local homeless shelter lets people bring their pets. I don’t think the food bank takes pet food, but there are pet food banks. I think Sarah might want to re-direct Sunny to a different provider if they aren’t the right service for the job.
