Oh, come on. The Republican party was not the same as the Spanish Inquisition. The Republicans used totally different torture techniques, and weren’t pro-Catholic.

What’s really hilarious is that the current Pope Benedict previously held the title of “Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith”…an office established in 1542 as the “Congregation of the Holy Office of the Inquisition”
