Cuco: Supermodel Heidi Klum participates in Native American "costumed" photo shoot. What I want to know is_ why do people still want to dress up like a savage like Heidi Klum?
“…want to dress up like a savage like Heidi Klum?” I thought if I typed the end of the last quote, I’d understand it better. I can only get that he’s wondering why women want to dress like an under-fed, skeletal model…the word savage" isn’t really very necessary here (?) ;)
And yet, she was married to Seal, which might indicate an openness to minorities. Maybe, as a German, she isn’t aware she can’t dress up like a Native American in a professional shoot.
Why pick on Heidi? She’s one of the least offensive characters in the public eye. She doesn’t promote self destructive behavior to the kids like the Rap crowd. Cut the lady some slack, nobody is 100% even 80% of the time. Enjoy the day…
It’s not really Ms. Klum, she probably just sees some pretty clothes and a paycheck. It’s the fashion industry as a whole feeling it’s A-ok to appropriate Native American culture for exotic effect, often without paying anything in return.

Oh my God, she better not dress up like Queen Elizabeth I or Marie Antoinette either.

Seems to me that the way it is worded is that Heidi wants to dress like NA “savages” – doesn’t appear to be very sensitive for a strip like this…
