I feel a song coming on. There are times when a woman has to say what’s on her mindEven though she knows how much it’s gonna hurtBefore I say another word, let me tell you “I love you”Let me hold you close, and say these words as gently as I can“There’s been another man that I’ve needed and I’ve loved,But that doesn’t mean I love you less,And he knows he can’t possess me, and he knows he never will,There’s just this empty place inside of me that only he can fill”
(chorus)Torn between two lovers, feeling like a foolLoving both of you is breaking all the rulesTorn between two lovers, feeling like a foolLoving you both is breaking all the rules
@debauchee No quantum leap here. “Everyone” by definition includes both sexes. Nothing he says limits it toeither boys or girls, so no q.l. In his own mind he may very well mean only girls, but he doesn’t SAY that…. You’re assuming something not in evidence.
Remember that a ‘quantum’ is, by definition, the smallest possible non-zero quantity, so a quantum leap in reasoning would therefore be the smallest possible leap. Seems to apply here.
It could also be assumed to mean that he is between lovers in the sense of standing between blocking them, and in this case it would be her and everyone else, implying that she has a very large collection of lovers. Maybe her name is Maria Von Trampp. So rather than his statement implying that he was going to move on to many other lovers, so he was a ‘playa,’ he’s actually saying that she is a woman of rather loose virtue.
Oh GAWD!!!!!!!!!!! Groan!!!!! The Snarks are loose, the Snarks are loose!!!!!!!!!!! In computer science, a quantum leap is a radical step forward in computer function.
