The Redskins and others are being asked to change their names. To solve this dilemma, why don’t we just pass a law that all teams be NUMBERED! Everyone would want #1, so to be fair, why not number them by zip codes, followed by another number for the sport. ie:62321-1 would be the Carthage football team,62321-2 would be the Carthage baseball team.Think how easily the scores could be tabulated on the sports pages.
When I was in the 3d grade, there was a contest to name the softball team. Since the win/lose ratio was not very favorable, I suggested the “Lima Losers”(Someone else won the contest!)
But look at it this way:Eventually, we would win one, and think of the psychological effect on the other team when someone asked them who they got beat by!
