    I grew up in the midwest, where it was called “soda pop,” so, no argument there.

    rpstrong, The Outsiders was actually about Tulsa gangs. The author, S. E. Hinton graduated from Tulsa’s Will Rogers High School and the novel was about two rival groups at that school. Other notable alumni are Elvin Bishop, David Gates, Anita Bryant and Leon Russell.

    Some locales split the difference and say “soda pop”. And in Dixie, it”s not “pop”, or “soda”, or “soda pop”, but “coke”, no matter what the actual brand is
