We’ve seen before that the king of Slumberland has slaves. Giants holding up a roadway, for example.

I’m still blown away just by the artwork. Look at what must have gone in to that castle in the last panel.
Imp beat Nemo to the silver screen, by the way. McCay’s first animated characters were Flip and his punk-haired attendant.
