I served in the military for seven years protecting this country. I now count on the next generation of soldiers and police (or is it two generations by now) to carry on protecting us.
I’m a combat veteran, spent a decade in law enforcement, have a concealed weapons permit, and hunt with several rifles and shotguns I own, plus have hand guns, and firmly believe in the “WELL REGULATED” addressed in the Constitution, as did Justice Scalia in “Heller vs DC”. The new bill the “conservative” gun nuts, NRA, are out to pass want to open up sales of suppressors (they aren’t really “silencers”), automatic weapons, and armor piercing bullets, FOR SPORTSMEN?????? On the range wear hearing protection, not a suppressor that allows you to shoot game, like neighbors, without arousing fear in the neighborhood. ARMOR PIERCING bullets for targets or deer? No, they’re for puncting those vests the cops wear when trying to protect you. On the other side, a college “rent a cop” has shot a suicidal guy “armed” with a Leatherman type tool. The US is going nuts on guns. But don’t worry, Trump now wants to nuke North Korea, not that there’d be any consequences to that. Or his aim at Iran.

I’ve never owned a gun. Nor have my relatives. Nor have my friends. We’ve gotten into our sixties and seventies and lived to tell about it.
