To burn someone in effigy is to burn their likeness, ie their picture or a figure. I know this is just a comic strip.

You think that’s a good one, there was a news headline a while back in MN… “Fertile woman dies in Climax on way to Moorhead” (all 3 are towns in MN). LOL!
