The hand-phone is so 1990s. How do you emulate a smart phone with Bluetooth?

Back in the dark ages, my phone stopped working. So I looked in the phone book (look it up kids) and it said if service was needed call the service #. Say what?

When the great blackout of 1965 occurred, my father had gone into Manhattan on union business. In those days, the phone system had its own power supply. The only thing on the house current was the ringer. When the power went out my mother told me to check the phone for a dial tone. When I picked up the phone I got my father at the other end who had chosen that exact time to call and check on us. If I hadn’t picked up the phone, we never would have known he was calling.

The problem turned out to be a defective index finger.

Interestingly, in response to above comments, each home was supplied with a transformer to supply the phone system with power. I unplugged mine and it made no difference with the operation of my phone. I got my phone power from my neighbors. Also, the 4 wire landline that came to each house could handle two different phone numbers; but of course most people didn’t use that.
