Thereby pointing out that no matter how much you like the lady, if she hasn’t taught you, she has robbed you of your time and the taxpayer of what they are spending money to provide you..If this keeps up, you’ll be in school for twenty years more and still not know anything important.
I had an English teacher who was brilliant. We stuffed around and had heaps of fun but one day I was hit by the realisation that she’s gotten us to do all our work still.
My father was in school during WWII..To distract the teacher from classwork, they’d ask him how the war was going.. The teacher would show them where the armies and navies were operating, what the geography, climate and culture was like and how it affected troop movements, et cetera..They came to realize they had learned geography, history, earth science, economics, math, world cultures, all the things they were supposed to learn and then some, all set against the background of survival and necessity.
The teachers from whom I learned the most WERE “fun”. More than that, they were challenging, passionate about their subject, and ENGAGING. Engaging students is key.
