Uh Huh. You say that NOW, “dearie.” But when later Gunther helps you with your homework or gets you out several embrassing tight spots with Tiffany or rescuing you from a deep ravine, or saying the right things to bolster your self confidence, then all of a sudden he’s your “hero.”
Sometimes a person is NOT the right person, Mordy. I took a lot of flack from some people for not agreeing to marry one suitor during my early 20s. He was a friend, he was wealthy (as in very), he was handsome and stately. He also just was not right. I knew the personality I wanted and he did not have it. The rest mattered less. I think most of us here have had friends, even good friends, who just were not the right person to marry (or sometimes to even date), and I bet that is as true for the men here as it is for the women.
You can be okay looking yet have a personality that turns people away. All you have do so is poor reaction time. People are bothered and it will be nearly subliminal in appearance. Even bullies will react to the weirdness by staying away.

I always got the impression that Gunther and LuAnn and all the rest of their group lived in roughly the same neighborhood. Why should he miss her?
