Just bring them the chewed up paper and go “Well, you probably aren’t gonna believe me, but…{pulls out chewed up paper} my dog ate me homework.” If they wanna know how they got the homework, say it fell off the counter and they got to it before you could stop them.
Fun little tidbit. One time my TEACHER’S pet ate my book report. She took them all home to grade and her pet parrot got hold of mine and tore and chewed it up. I had to redo it.
