Luann and Frank sit on her bed. Luann says, "I HAVE to get my driver's license, Dad. I just HAVE to!" Luann continues, "I promised Stuart I'd take him to dinner! I won't be able to do that. I won't be able to drive wherever I want or cruise with my friends or go...". She stops herself, noticing her father smiling wistfully. Luann points a finger at her father and says, "Were you smiling?" Frank says, "No."
