I had a teacher in high school who told us that he would turn off the car radio if he heard the National Anthem starting. We were aghast thinking he was admitting to being so unpatriotic. He quickly corrected our misunderstanding. It wasn’t that he was unpatriotic, it was that he didn’t know how to stand at attention with his hand over his heart while driving.

Love the kid. Dim, very dim. TBAR. But pure. Simple. Literal.
