My 130lb German Shepherd needed those, too. He wasn’t too fond of it, but he’d let you get some of the stuff down there. He did enjoy getting the gunk it loosened up out of there, though.
I’m surprised that Marmaduke is just quietly lying there on the table waiting for the vet to show them how!

Nothing compared to trying to get a pill into even a small cat.
It’s not a problem with my Maltese-Bichon mix. He lets me clean his ears without any fuss.
You should try putting drops in a cats ears. (My neighbors have cats).
My Great Dane is the same way. He does however enjoy the ear massage afterward.
