They do, I have 5 crows that come to my lot behind the house and this squirrel will run across the lot and jump right on the Ass-o crows face. The other crows don’t care and the attacked crow jumps around and they play. I called it an ass-o because it is a jerk! I know those birds
We had a German Shepard who was very vocal about her needs. We knew when she wanted to eat, play or go out. One day my mother made a surprise, uninvited visit. This was her first meeting with Edie. Edie took a few sniffs, did not lick an offered hand and silently followed my mother wherever she went, staying by the side of the family member my mother was closest to. My mother noticed this and brought it up with one of our 6 year old daughters. “Oh, she’s just protecting us.” On her next visit Edie went to alert and gave a short growl and again silently followed her everywhere. That was my mother’s last visit. Smart, loyal, very good dog. She loved the girls like they were little sisters.
Over the years I’ve had many dogs of different breeds and they all had their own different ways ….. “BUT” one thing that they “ALL” had was unconditional “LOVE” ……………. :)
