Sadly, in the modern work environment, i cannot offer an honest compliment to a female co-worker regarding her appearance without fear of getting an earful later from the boss about potential harassment X_x! (Sexual harassment policies were written with normal folks in mind but seemingly are enforced to appease the neurotics who take quick offense to a simple ‘Good morning’….and sadly, i have run into a few….i try to avoid them when i can)
Having worked in a male dominated industry and put up with real harassment – pornographic pictures stuck into my belongings, some men putting their hands where they didn’t belong – I have little sympathy for office staff crying about being called ‘pretty.’.You learn to let the small stuff pass over you, look a man in the eye and shoot him down with a withering glance.Most importantly, you do your job well, you never swear and you trust in your own self esteem.Soon enough you will have the better men- and there are a lot of them – standing up for you.

Yes but the IT guys get to walk around and work on PCs so they see plenty pretty women and tell them so too.
